studio

The studio is located in Point Pleasant, NJ and includes: 
  • 1,000 sq. ft. of private space
  • Two separate shooting spaces with different looks
  • Natural and studio lighting
  • Client closet of maternity and postpartum-friendly dresses
  • Newborn props and accessories
  • Sample albums, frame mouldings, and photo products
  • On-site custom framing
  • Cozy seating area

All of our portrait experiences are completely custom and designed to create beautiful artwork for your home, so we'll want to talk about your vision and how you’d like to display your artwork. We offer both in-studio and on-location sessions, providing the flexibility to fit your session vision. 

OVERVIEW

Once you’ve booked, we’ll begin to craft your session. Because we believe your images should decorate the walls of your home, we plan your session with your home decor in mind! Let’s customize a session to match your taste. From choosing the color palette that will best complement your home, to choosing outfits for each individual family member, to scheduling the best session time that won’t conflict with those must-have baby naps, my team and I will work with you to plan every detail of the session.

PLANNING & PREPARATION

All sessions include access to the client closet of maternity and post-partum friendly dresses. Schedule a day to come try on dresses or choose one on the day of the session. 

ACCESS TO THE CLIENT CLOSET

If you’re booking a family session, we’ll select your date upon booking, so we give ourselves plenty of time to prepare. But if you’ve got a newborn on the way, we have a uniquely flexible booking plan: just send us a message within three days after your little one is born, and we'll let you know our next available date!

SCHEDULING

When your session day arrives, we'll guide you through every pose and prompt, capturing classic portraits and candid moments, too! Whether you choose an in-studio or lifestyle session, you can rest assured that all of our pre-planning will result in beautiful artwork to hang on the walls of your home and cherish in a custom album. 

ENJOY YOUR SESSION

As a parent who realizes it's all going so quickly, I know your precious family heirlooms are the most important part of the whole experience…but who has the time to make them!? This is why your collection includes a Reveal & Ordering Appointment so we can create your next family heirloom immediately! We will walk you through all the options and take care of the rest! 

DESIGN YOUR HEIRLOOMS

As a full-service studio, we take pride in helping you get your images onto your walls. We'll create mockups of your artwork using the newest software and then we'll help you choose from a variety of moldings we have right in our studio.

CUSTOM FRAMING

Once your artwork is ready, we'll schedule your delivery and/or installation date based on your schedule. For galleries of three pieces or more, we come to your home and install your artwork for you - no more nagging hubby to put it up for weeks or even months!

For families looking for a quiet, relaxing environment you don’t have to clean or prepare, studio photography is the way to go! We offer portrait sessions in our Point Pleasant, NJ studio carefully selected to suit your vision. 

Prefer to stay home or venture outdoors? From your very own living room to your favorite neighborhood park, our lifestyle option is for families who want us to pack up our camera and come to them! For newborns, lifestyle photos are taken in your cozy master bedroom or their brand new nursery. Meanwhile for family, we can venture out into one of our favorite local spots where we know where to find good lighting to showcase your unique personality and capture your kids at play!

STUDIO SESSIONS

Studio sessions take place in Point Pleasant, NJ and are offered for maternity, newborn, milestone, and family sessions.

ON-LOCATION SESSIONS

On-location sessions take place in your home or at a local beach or park. We'll chat about your vision for the session and decide on the perfect location during your planning session.

Having lost my mother at the young age of 25, motherhood and family photography holds a special place in my heart. Reflecting on my own experiences, I realize that my mother never had the opportunity for professional photos, and as both a photographer and a mother myself, I yearn for those captured moments not only for my sake but also to pass down to my daughter.

Understanding the challenges of balancing motherhood with a busy schedule, I've crafted an experience that goes beyond portraits. It's a chance for you to indulge in a meaningful bonding moment and create lasting memories together. KATIE, Associate Photographer

For more than three years, Katie has been a valuable member of the Idalia Photography team. She now captures maternity, newborn, and family sessions for our studio while Alex ensures your session prep, photo editing, and product fulfillment aligns with the same experience all Idalia clients receive.

Having recently experienced the joy of becoming a mother herself, Katie recognizes the significance of those initial professional photos and understands the importance of preserving precious family moments. She is committed to guiding you in creating stunning images to proudly display in your home this year and for years to come.


the signature session

A luxury portrait experience that allows you to savor these moments with your family while we take care of all the planning. From wardrobe styling, hair & makeup, to the installation of your artwork, we are here to care for the tiniest of details while ensuring your family's legacy is preserved for generations. Our Signature Session is perfect for maternity sessions that include multiple outfits and/or children, all newborn sessions, and all family sessions. The session includes:

  • Professional hair/makeup for momma OR two additional pages in your album
  • 45-60 minute studio or on-location session (2 hours for posed studio newborn session)
  • Editing and enhancing of your photos
  • Virtual Reveal and Ordering Appointment to choose your favorite images and artwork
  • Custom album design
  • 8"x8" linen album with the first 10 pages (15 images)
  • Digital backups of your purchased images

the simplicity session

A short and sweet session in our studio or one of our favorite beaches or parks. Each session lasts 30-45 minutes and highlights this sweet time in your family's story. Choose between maternity, tummy time (3-5 months), sitter (6-9 months), 1st birthday, or family. Simplicity sessions are not available for newborn sessions. Simplicity Sessions include:

first year collective

Already know you would like multiple sessions to document baby's first year? Plan your documented memories before your little one arrives. From capturing your bump to holding your swaddled newborn in your arms to sitting and giggling to walking and connecting with you. This next year is going to happen so fast. Soak up every moment with the first year collective. For families with a new baby, the First Year Collective is the most popular option because it ensures you get to document all of your baby's milestones and you can choose the sessions you'd like to include during an 18 month period. Choose between maternity, newborn, tummy time (3-5 months), sitter (6-9 months), 1st birthday, cake smash, and family sessions. The First Year Collective includes:

  • Two Simplicity Sessions 
  • Editing and enhancing of your photos
  • Virtual Reveal and Ordering Appointment after each session to choose your favorite images and artwork

*PLEASE NOTE:
  • A retainer of $200 is required to hold the session date. The remaining balance is split up into monthly payments with the final payment due 30 days before the session date. Payments for the first year collective are split up into 4 payments with each payment due 30 days before the next scheduled session. 
  • Booking Fees are based on one family. Sessions with multiple families, please inquire for booking fee.
  • Lifestyle newborn sessions in your home DO NOT include studio-style posing. In a lifestyle newborn session, baby is held in parent or sibling arms, is posed naturally on bed, or in the crib. If you are looking for studio-style posing of your newborn, please book a studio newborn session. Please view portfolio for samples of each.
